2019 Ford F-150 Raptor

The time has come for the 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor to make its debut, and we're sure that you're excited to learn about its new features. We have good news – and more good news!

What's New With the Raptor Drivetrain?

This year, Ford chose to keep the F-150 Raptor powertrain relatively the same; however, when it comes to the suspension system, the changes are where it counts. Ford is sticking with what works with the shock absorbers. The Fox Racing Shocks have been exclusively used for the F-150 Raptor for the last eight years. Now, Ford is enhancing the suspension system with shocks that have a new pressure pocket solenoid, with additional cords that are coiled around the part.

Ford engineers upgraded the vehicle dynamics module and ride-height sensors. The solenoid operates the efficiency of the upper control arms, which are electronically controlled and adjust the dampers appropriately through an automated process. The terrain management system within the Ford F-150 Raptor constantly monitors the road conditions and adjusts with each millisecond. The result is greater handling capability and much better control.

Has Off-Road Performance Been Improved?

The improvement features of the Ford F-150 Raptor continue with the new Trail Control button. The new feature acts similarly to a standard cruise control, except that is exceptionally engineered specifically for off-road terrain. When the system is set, the adjustments automatically begin at 1 mph, up to 20 mph, which takes over the throttle and braking, for better control.

While the truck is being systematically controlled, you're free to steer its direction and focus entirely on navigating the terrain! The Trail Control feature can be selected at any time, even with a steep incline or hill. The 17-inch wheels haven't changed, and the 35-inch diameter tires are still standard features with the Raptor. Additionally, the suspension travel for the rear of the truck remains at 13 inches and the front remains at 13.9 inches.

Has the Exterior Changed?

With all the new enhancements that have taken place with the F-150 Raptor, the exterior shape has been kept relatively the same. However, the Ford emblem across the rear tailgate is a new applique for the F-150 Raptor. The design gives three-dimensional lettering that "pops" as a stand-out that is very distinctive for the truck. The improvements extend even further with the exterior colors. The additions are Ford Performance Blue, Agate Black, and Velocity Blue. The interior features are enhanced with a brand-new package with the Recaro seats.

This is the first time that Ford has chosen to include a package that allows the Raptor to have the Recaro seats, in addition to adding carbon-fiber accents with the doors, the front dashboard, the cup holder cover, and even the gearshift lever. Also, the front and rear seats are designed with the distinctive blue seat imbedded Raptor label. The design is also found on the center console, which is new to the 2019 model. The orange and black interior design are no longer available.

As they say, "out with the old and in with the new!" Well, the new feature changes have made the F-150 Raptor stand out even more as a unique truck that is in a lane of its own and holds it really well.
