You Can Now Put the Pony Back on Your Mustang

Ford Mustang

The iconic pony-in-corral grille badge is coming back to the 2018 Ford Mustang, available soon in Santa Clara.

The sports car’s new Pony Package will now feature the badge, which was first introduced when the car was launched more than 50 years ago. The badge features the car's famous image of a running horse, which is now surrounded by a chrome corral.

Fans of the muscle car will be very happy to have this option available to them once more, as it brings together both the modern and the classic.

According to the automaker, “The badge design first appeared on Mustang in the mid-1960s when the car was still in concept phase. It has appeared in various forms since, and was last used as part of an anniversary package for 2015.”

The new pony badge is not all that the package has to offer drivers of the 2018 Mustang. Those who choose to add the Pony Package will also get:

  • Bright beltline and window trim for fastback model
  • 19-inch polished aluminum wheels
  • Side stripes on lower body sides
  • Premium carpeted floor mats with Ebony embroidered pony logo
  • Tri-bar pony badge on rear decklid appliqué
