What's New for the 2026 Ford Mustang?

For the most part, the 2026 Ford Mustang doesn't see major changes. Instead, it gets a handful of trim-specific tweaks and revised optional packages that help you better customize your chosen trim. The Mustang continues to impress with intuitive, performance-focused tech displays. It offers brisk acceleration, confident handling, and a cabin that feels roomier than many competitors.

What Are the 2026 Mustang Trims & Features?

You can get the 2026 Ford Mustang in one of six trim levels.

The base model in the Mustang lineup is the EcoBoost. This trim comes with LED headlights and 17-inch wheels. A dual exhaust is standard for both style and improved performance. The EcoBoost includes keyless entry and dual-zone climate control. Cloth seats are standard, while a leather gear shifter provides a touch of refinement. Tech includes a Wi-Fi hotspot, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a 13.2-inch infotainment screen, and a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster.

Next up is the EcoBoost Premium. It upgrades to synthetic-leather seating and adds ambient interior lighting. A heated steering wheel is standard, and the front seats are heated and ventilated. This trim also adds a better sound system, proximity-sensing exterior lights, and power-adjustable mirrors.

The GT trim brings a decorative and functional hood vent, larger brake rotors, and unique styling details specific to the trim.

The GT Premium includes all GT features plus larger 19-inch wheels.

The Dark Horse trim elevates the lineup further, featuring engine oil coolers, a B&O sound system, custom 19-inch wheels, an active exhaust, and distinct styling and badging.

The Dark Horse Premium builds on the Dark Horse with track-oriented upgrades - roughly 500 hp from a 5.0L V8 (available with a 6-speed manual or 10-speed automatic), MagneRide® dampers, high-performance Brembo® brakes, heavy-duty engine/transmission/diff coolers, and an optional Handling Package and RECARO® seats for buyers who want an even more track-capable Mustang.
