Specs at a Glance
Available with eight seats, the 2024 Ford Expedition XLT and Limited deliver a refined experience for families. As the higher-priced variant, the Limited comes with a larger infotainment display and instrument cluster. Let's examine these two exceptional trims.
Performance
Generating up to 380 horsepower from a 3.5-liter engine block, the 2024 Expedition is powered by the renowned EcoBoost platform. The standard V-6 powerhouse produces 470 pound-feet of peak torque. Opting for the 2024 Expedition Limited allows you to select a high-output powerplant, offering up to 440 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to an automatic transmission system with 10 gears. These full-size Ford SUVs boast excellent mechanical features, such as a 4x4 drive system with Traction Control and Hill Descent Control. A non-limited-slip rear axle with a 3.31 ratio is standard on both models, with an option to upgrade to a 3.73 ratio for improved handling. The performance is further enhanced by a two-speed transfer case powered by Control Trac and includes the eLSD for maximum traction on various surfaces. These sizable Ford vehicles are constructed on a fully boxed frame, ensuring exceptional durability.
Appearance
The 2024 Expedition XLT rides on 18-inch, machine-faced aluminum wheels with Magnetic pockets. Both this trim and the Limited offer 20-inch alloy wheels featuring Dark Carbonized Gray pockets and a six-spoke layout. Sparkle Silver styling is available for the XLT's 20-inch wheels. The Limited version can be equipped with 22-inch wheels painted in black. The upscale Limited model boasts leather seats in the front row with power adjustments, heating, and ventilation. The XLT's seats also offer the optional synthetic ActiveX material.
Features
Based on the SYNC 4 platform, a 12-inch touchscreen is a standard feature on both the 2024 Expedition XLT and Limited. Both three-row SUVs come with an 8-inch productivity screen in the instrument cluster. FordPass Connect powers a robust Wi-Fi modem within the cockpits of both vehicles. For an upgraded experience, the Limited trim offers a 15.5-inch LCD touchscreen with an optional 12.4-inch instrument meter. Both models provide a rear entertainment system with Amazon Fire TV streaming for dual headrest monitors.
