Ford Supports First Responders and Community During Los Angeles County Wildfires

The recent wildfires in Los Angeles, CA, caused widespread and devastating damage, leaving many without homes and numerous businesses in ruins. Even with the severe losses from the fires, the local community has found support from the auto industry, including the classic American automaker Ford Motors. Ford has announced plans to help affected community members and first responders as they work to recover and rebuild after the devastation.

How is Ford Helping?

Ford dealers from 13 states in the Western US and Ford Philanthropy have donated to the California Community Foundation's Wildlife Recovery Fund. They have given $465,000 to supply local organizations in California with the supplies and resources needed to support community members. The funds raised by Ford and its philanthropic branch also benefit the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. In addition to supporting the broader LA community, Ford is helping displaced residents by offering discounted prices on Ford vehicles and deferred payment options. Ford also provides customers with free electric chargers when they buy an electric vehicle, and its employees are granted paid time off to help with wildfire recovery efforts.

What Organizations Does Ford Support?

Through its donations, Ford is supporting several organizations working in the LA area. The American Red Cross, Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, and Team Rubicon benefit from Ford's contributions. Together, these organizations are delivering ongoing support to LA wildfire victims as they rebuild after the fires. The Red Cross continues providing shelter and essential supplies to displaced individuals, while Team Rubicon offers longer-term support as victims await home rebuilding or restoration. Both Feeding America and the World Central Kitchen are working to provide meals and food to affected community members.

Special Electric Vehicle Support

For those located in the FEMA disaster area, owners of Ford and Lincoln vehicles qualify for special Ford incentives. This includes reimbursement for all-electric vehicles charged at a charging station from January 7 - 31. Local Ford dealerships can also provide free charging adapters to customers who have lost their homes or are using an electric vehicle to aid in disaster relief. Additionally, Ford is offering free replacements for customers whose home charging stations were lost in the fires.
