Specs at a Glance
Big changes make the 2025 Ford Maverick® an even more enticing compact pickup. In addition to its refreshed exterior, the newest Maverick® comes equipped with the updated SYNC 4 infotainment system. When comparing new Mavericks®, buyers may find themselves choosing between the XLT and Lobo™ trims. Let's examine how these two stack up.
Performance
The Maverick® XLT is powered by a standard 2.5L hybrid engine, making it one of the most fuel-efficient trucks in its class. Ford rates this setup at a combined 191 horsepower. A continuously variable transmission further boosts efficiency. For those craving more power, the XLT also offers an optional 2.0L EcoBoost engine that delivers 250 horsepower. While front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is available as an option.
On the sportier Maverick® Lobo™, the 2.0L EcoBoost engine is standard. A unique seven-speed automatic transmission featuring paddle shifters enhances the driving experience. The Lobo™ trim is specifically tuned for a more spirited on-road performance, with a lowered suspension and performance-oriented steering. Upgraded brakes and a torque-vectoring AWD system round out the Lobo™'s athletic package.
Appearance
The 2025 XLT retains the Maverick®'s refreshed styling, with a revised front fascia and darkened headlamp covers that stand out. Ford complements the XLT's updated look with 17-inch Carbonized Gray aluminum wheels. A range of attractive exterior colors, such as Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat and Azure Gray Metallic Tri-Coat, is also available.
The Maverick® Lobo™ exudes a fierce street-truck vibe. Its lowered stance, exclusive 19-inch black wheels, and a distinctive grille set it apart from the rest of the lineup. The Lobo™ trim's more aggressive styling makes a bold statement.
Features
The XLT's highlight is its new SYNC 4 infotainment system, centered around a larger 13.2-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Other notable features include Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start, in-bed cubby storage, and an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster.
Inside the Maverick® Lobo™, ActiveX seat upholstery with contrasting stitching immediately draws attention. Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control is standard, and an available B&O premium sound system caters to audiophiles.
