Several modifications have been made to the Mustang for the 2016 model year. The optional MyFord Touch system has been replaced by SYNC 3 - a responsive, more intuitive interface - and all GT models now come with standard secondary turn signals integrated into the hood vents. Additionally, EcoBoost and GT coupe variants of the 2016 Ford Mustang in Santa Clara are available with a black roof and the GT Performance package is now offered on convertible and coupe models. A Black Accent package, Pony package and California Special package are also available on select trims for those who want to attain a little extra luxury.
New to the Mustang lineup this year is the Shelby GT350 coupe. Designed for track enthusiasts, the high-performance model comes equipped with Recaro front seats, Brembo brakes, a Torsen rear differential and offers racetrack-oriented handling. A 5.2L V8 engine sits firmly under the hood, generating 526 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft. of torque; it comes paired with a six-speed manual transmission that drives power to the rear wheels.
Unlike the GT350, the base 2016 Ford Mustang in Santa Clara comes equipped with a 3.7L V6, outputting 300 horsepower, while the EcoBoost trim sports a turbocharged 2.3L four-cylinder capable of delivering 310 horsepower. The GT, which is the strongest out of the standard Mustang models, features a 5.0L V8 that pumps out 435 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque.
