Not too many changes are made to the Escape in 2019, which maintains its favorable stance in the SUV category. Two of the Ford Escape trim packages, the SE and SEL make exciting enhancements to its features. The SE trim gains the SYNC 3 technology, which has a ton of advanced features when connected to your smartphone. Both the SE and SEL also include remote-starters and a smart key with a push-button stop/start standard. While several exterior paint colors have been discontinued, there are exciting new options such as Baltic Sea Green, Agate Black, and Sedona Orange.
There are four different trim levels available in 2019 for the Ford Escape. Drivers can choose between S, SE, SEL, and Titanium. While the S trim is only available in front-wheel drive, all other three can be purchased in front-wheel or all-wheel drive versions.
Coming standard on all trim levels of the Escape are great features like a 1st row LCD monitor, remote keyless entry, and sleek-scan radio. When you move up to the SE, you get heated front seats, driver seat lumbar support, front fog/driving lights, and a second LCD monitor. Drivers who go with the SEL get all the previously mentioned features, as well as heated mirrors, parking assist, and leather trim on their seats.
The Titanium level trim has all of the great features as the other trims, but includes some unique additions as well. It comes with 19" wheels machined and painted with accents aluminum, Active Park Assist Parking assist, a navigation system, SiriusXM AM/FM/HD/Satellite radio, and lumbar support for both the driver and passenger.
The amount of power you get out the new Escape will depend on the trim level you choose. The base level S model comes with 168-hp, 2.5-liter I-4 engine. Both the SE and SEL trims come with a 179-hp, 1.5-liter I-4 engine. Those who elect to go with the top of the line Titanium trim get a 245-hp, 2.0-liter I-4 engine. All of these engine options pair beautifully with the 6-speed automatic w/OD and auto-manual.
The S level engine produces 170 @ 4,500 rpm torque. Drivers can expect the engine in the SE and SEL to produce 177 @ 2,500 rpm torque. Finally, the Titanium trim level Escape produces 275 @ 3,000 rpm torque.
Safety is a priority in the design of the 2019 Ford Escape. Drivers get anti-lock brakes as well as stability control. Seatbelt pretensioners are included to optimally tighten in the event of a crash, keeping the occupant in the ideal place. There are many airbags that come standard, including front-impact, side impact, knee, and overhead ones.
There are several additional safety features available on certain trim levels. They include Adaptive Cruise Control, parking sensors, Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support, Active Lane Control, and Blind Spot Monitors with Cross-Traffic Alert. If you elect to go with a tow package, you get trailer-sway control and better headlights.
