When 2019 arrives, the Ford Fusion will be in the seventh year of production. Over the years, Ford has made changes as necessary to keep the Fusion competitive and looking fresh. In 2019, the Fusion gets stylistic revisions in the form of a redesigned front and rear fascia, which gives it a bold new look. Trim Choices & Advanced Design Features

In the base model, called the S, standard amenities to look forward to include a manually-operated climate control, an air filter that purifies air in the cabin, and the Ford Sync entertainment system, which comes with AM/FM radio and voice recognition for hands-free use. As you're driving along, you can keep an eye on your real-time performance data with a handy 4.2-inch LCD driver display screen, which shows information like gas mileage and engine output.

Optional features on the S include dual-zone AC and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Moving up to the SE, you'll get a driver's seat that moves in 10 ways. Dual-zone AC is standard in this trim and up, and heated seats are optional. The Sync 3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, created by Ford, and a center armrest in the back row with two cup holders are standard.

The SEL adds a custom memory setting to the driver's seat, and it also features lumbar support. Heated front seats are standard on the SEL, and it has a premium audio system that pumps out tunes with 11 speakers. A leather-wrapped steering wheel is standard on this trim, and it has paddle shifters mounted to the steering wheel. An auto-dimming rearview mirror, LED lights, and heated power-operated outside mirrors are also standard.

The Titanium has both heated and cooled front seats. Music lovers will appreciate this trim, which has a premier audio system with 12 speakers. XM satellite radio is standard, as is a trip computer and driver message center. Leather seats and a heated steering wheel are other standard amenities in this trim level. For the driver's convenience, both cruise control and the audio controls are mounted on the steering wheel. On this trim, you'll also get an all-chrome grille. The V6 Sport also has a 12-speaker audio system. The infotainment system on this trim level comes with navigation. It also comes standard with XM satellite radio. Premium front and rear floor mats are other highlights of the V6. Finally, aluminum sport pedals help you shift smoothly and with style.

Improved Performance & Engine Power

The base engine in the Ford Fusion is a 2.5L, four-cylinder engine that produces up to 173 HP at 6,000 RPM. The second-highest engine is a turbocharged 1.5L, four-cylinder engine that generates a maximum of 181 HP at 6,000 RPM. A 2.0L EcoBoost four-cylinder engine is standard on the Titanium and available on the SE. This engine produces up to 245 HP at 5,500 RPM. It also features a fuel-saving technology that reserves precious fuel supplies but doesn't sacrifice performance in the process. Powering the V6 Sport is a 2.7L EcoBoost six-cylinder engine that generates up to 325 HP at 5,500 RPM. All of the engines are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

In 2019, the Fusion is safer than ever with a number of standard and available safety components. Standard features on all trim levels are a backup camera, electronic stability control, front, back, and side airbags, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
