The Ford Super Duty was designed to be extremely tough and capable of handling heavy workloads. The 2019 Super Duty has come from a long heritage of Super Duty trucks that could be utilized by anyone. For 2019, Ford has introduced several new key components to the Super Duty lineup. The Super Duty now has a Lariat sport package that is being offered by Ford. Additionally, the former Sony stereo sound system has been replaced by a Bang & Olufsen Play stereo. 4G LTE Wi-Fi is now an available option for 2019 models as well.
Together there are 36 different trims available in the 2019 Ford Super Duty lineup. The trims differ based on truck bed size, cabin size, and drivetrain among several other things. The primary trims are the Super Duty XLT, Super Duty XL, Super Duty Platinum, Super Duty Limited, Super Duty Lariat, and Super Duty King Ranch. Each trim, as a result of their constructions offer different towing capacities and power figures.
The 2019 Ford Super Duty has a trailer guidance system that assists drivers when driving the truck in reverse. The center dashboard camera is capable of displaying the position of both the truck and the trailer.
There are two engine options offered for the 2019 Super Duty, both powered by different fuel. The gasoline-powered 6.2 liter Flex-Fuel V8 engine produces 385 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. There are two drivetrains offered for the 2019 Super Duty, 2-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive. Power is transferred from the engine to either of these drivetrains through a TorqShift®-G 6 Speed Automatic transmission.
Depending on the trim option chosen, the Super Duty is capable of towing up to 21,000 pounds. The Super Duty has a 27,500 pound 5th-wheel tow rating and a 35,000 pound gooseneck tow rating. Ford offers a prep-package to prepare the Super Duty for the gooseneck and 5th-wheel loads.
The line of Super Duty trucks were built to be durable. Over 95% of the frame of each truck has been constructed using high-strength steel. Roll Stability Control (RSC) is a trailer-stability system that comes with the Super Duty. The truck is stopped by a four-wheel anti-lock brake system (ABS) that ensures the truck can stop when road conditions are less than optimal. Automatic emergency braking and lane departure warning are offered as options for the Super Duty.
