What's New For the 2020 Ford Mustang?

From its celebrated debut in 1964 to the present day, the Ford Mustang has made hearts race and pulses pound. The 2020 Mustang, with brawny good looks and plenty of ponies under the hood, would make any car performance enthusiast proud. Here's a glimpse of what the 2020 Ford Mustang has to offer.

The most significant change for the 2020 Mustang is that Ford has ratcheted up the car's power in its high-performance EcoBoost Premium and its cheetah-fast GT500. Ford is decking the 2020 Mustang out in four new adrenalized shades: Iconic Silver, Rapid Red, Twister Orange, and Grabber Lime.

2020 Ford Mustang Interior

2020 Mustang has Varied Trim Levels & Countless Features

2020 Mustang trims include EcoBoost, EcoBoost Premium, GT, Bullitt, and Shelby. The EcoBoost and GT are available in fastback or convertible. The Bullitt retains its classic fastback styling and its signature Dark Highland Green paint.

The basic EcoBoost Mustang has 17-inch alloy wheels, a limited-slip differential, and a dual-exhaust system. Optional goodies include Bluetooth phone connectivity and a beefed-up six-speaker audio system. The basic EcoBoost has electronically lockable front brakes that are designed to warm up the tires, but we have a sneaking suspicion that they'll be used for smoky burnouts, instead.

The EcoBoost Premium Package boasts 18-inch alloy wheels and new features, including larger front and rear sway bars, an alloy strut-tower brace, and a limited-slip differential. It's also equipped with a potent quad-tipped exhaust system that can you can customize from a menacing rumble to a full-out howl.

The GT incorporates the standard EcoBoost's features and has been upgraded with a firmer suspension and Brembo six-piston brakes.

What's Under the Hood of the 2020 Ford Mustang

2020 Ford MustangUnderpowered base Mustangs are a thing of the past. The 2020 Mustang's EcoBoost is equipped with a turbocharged 2.3-liter, four-cylinder engine that generates a robust 310 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Add the High-Performance EcoBoost Package, and Ford ups the ante to 332 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque.

For even more oomph, the Mustang GT and the Bullitt wield a 5.0-liter V8 engine solidly generating 420 ft-lb of torque.

And then there's the formidable GT500 supercar, with a colossal 760 horsepower erupting from a mighty 5.2 liter V8. It's a rocketship, going from zero to 60 in three seconds. The GT500 is the most powerful street-legal car that Ford has ever manufactured.

All engines can be paired with either a standard six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission, other than the GT500, which couples with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

2020 Mustang Safety Technologies

2020 Ford MustangThe National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has given the 2020 Mustang a full five stars. The Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) was also impressed, honoring the Mustang with its top score of Good.

This is evidenced by blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, along with a radar-based forward-collision warning that preloads the brakes and lane-departure warning.

Antilock disc brakes, stability control, along with seven airbags in the coupe and five airbags in the convertible, also add up to a safe drive.

The 2020 Ford Mustang seamlessly melds beauty with brawn. Call or visit Frontier Ford to experience the 2020 Mustang in person.
