If you’re a fan of the Ford F-150 – and you probably are considering its the best-selling pickup in the country – you’ll be happy to learn that the very popular hauler will be getting a brand-new hybrid model.

Due to reach dealers sometime in 2020, the F-150 Hybrid will showcase all the power and agility the pickup is known for but with added fuel economy that is already bolstered by the truck’s new all-aluminum body. This exciting news comes straight from Ford CEO Mark Fields who told NPR that the F-150 Hybrid will be a part of the automaker’s larger plan to meet upcoming government regulations, as well as customer demand for more efficient cars.

Fields didn’t go into too many other details about the hybrid, though he did point out that it would use a rear-wheel drivetrain and would boast a traditional hybrid powertrain instead of a plug-in. Fans and critics alike have praised this new plan from Ford, and like them, we are very happy to see the automaker continuing its commitment to both fuel efficiency and sustainability.

We’ll keep you updated as more information comes out about the F-150 Hybrid and when we might see it at Frontier Ford. Until then, stop by our Santa Clara Ford dealership today and take one of our excellent new Ford F-150 trucks for a test drive!
