The new 2019 Taurus sticks with what has made this a great large sedan for years. It is part of a generation that launched in 2010 and was refreshed in 2013. Instead of making unnecessary changes, Ford is continuing to make an affordable, reliable, and stylish car.
There are 4 different trim levels available to drivers in the 2019 Taurus. They are the SE, SEL, Limited, and SHO. The SE is only available in front-wheel drive while the SEL and Limited have both front-wheel and all-wheel-drive options. The top-of-the-line SHO is only available in all-wheel-drive. Each trim option is a 4-door sedan with plenty of room for 5.
No matter the weather, the Limited and SHO trims have you covered and comfortable. These vehicles come with standard heated and cooled front seats as well as a heated steering wheel. Those sitting in the back have not forgotten, either. Coming standard in the 2019 Taurus are heated outboard rear seats. Getting into your 2019 Taurus is quick and easy thanks to the remote keyless entry.
The SYNC 3 system is incredibly user-friendly and offers many convenient features to drivers. It is responsive voice-activated technology that is compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Available navigation allows you to find nearby gas stations or restaurants with nothing but your voice. Drivers of the base trim will enjoy the 2 LCD front-row LCD monitors. The Limited trim adds a third monitor as well.
Coming standard on the SE, SEL, and Limited trims is a 288-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 engine that is paired perfectly with a 6-speed automatic w/OD and auto-manual transmission. Drivers of the SHO trim get a little more power, generated by the 365-hp, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine that comes standard on these vehicles. This engine is again paired with a 6-speed automatic w/OD and auto-manual transmission. Drivers with the 288-hp engine can expect an estimated combined MPG of 22 from front-wheel-drive versions and 20 from all-wheel-drives ones. The larger 365-hp engine still offers an impressive estimated combined MPG of 19.
Safety is a priority to the designers at Ford, something that is made evident by the numerous standard and available features in the 2019 Taurus. Each trim level comes with AdvanceTrac® with Electronic Stability Control, an Individual Tire Pressure Monitoring System, seat belt pretensioners, and the Safety Canopy System®. This system is designed to deploy the side-impact airbags in the event of a rollover in an effort to protect the occupant's head from hitting the window. Available features include Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning. All trims except the base SE also feature Parking Assist.
